Social Responsibility
Giving back to our community is one of our long-standing commitments. Helix has been actively participating in various community events over the years.
Charitable and Volunteering Activities
Helix has partnered with World Vision in Notebook Ownership Program for many years and will continue our support in the future. We are hoping to make a difference for children in need around the world. Over the years, a portion from every notebook purchase via the installment plan goes to support the charity work organized by our partners. We are hoping to helps children, families, and communities break the cycle of poverty through the Child Sponsorship Program. In 2015, we are glad to form a new partnership with Doctor Without Borders. In the coming years, we are hoping to do more and achieve more.
Our employees are also very keen to participate in various charitable events. One example is the Race for Water, a fundraising campaign organized by a Drop of Life, a non-profit organization in Hong Kong that supports water supply in rural China. Our company representatives have joined the event in two consecutive years and look forward to a return in 2017.
Education
Helix takes education matters to heart and strongly believes the importance of education to the younger generation. The Helix Information Technology Education Fund has supported different initiatives of technology education over the years with an aim to empower our next generation.
In 2015, we set up the Notebook Sponsorship Program at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong to support students in need to purchase computer device at lower price. We also take a step further by setting up the Helix Scholarship at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and awarding students with outstanding academic achievement and active participation in extra-curricular activities and voluntary services. More scholarships are going to be established in 2016.
Helix is also the order fulfillment partner of “I learn at home” Internet Learning Support Programme organized by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region. This programme aims at helping eligible families to acquire affordable computer equipment and Internet access services, so that their school-age children can undertake web-based learning at home and providing them with user and social support.
Staff Development Program
Helix believes that talent development plays a vital role in the success of corporate sustainable development. Apart from developing our employees professionally, we also care about their personal growth. Helix has organized overseas trip to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany and South Korea over the years in order to increase our employees' cultural awareness and creativity.
